Bariatric medical tourism begs a couple of questions. One, if I am from out of town, can the process all be done remotely until arriving in Las Vegas for surgery or do I need in person appointments prior to the surgery? And second, why travel to have a surgery that can be done in my hometown?
In regards to the first question, all of the pre-operative tasks can be completed prior to surgery from your hometown. In fact, we make this process actually easier for you. We verify your insurance benefits and review them with you from your home. You can schedule appointments for a history and physical and pre-op clearance at your convenience with your own primary care doctor. All blood work , EKG and chest x-ray data can be submitted to us electronically and we review them with you at a time of your choosing. There is no need to miss work in order to see us in our office because we are happy and willing to work around your busy schedule. All of the pre-operative tasks are accomplished much easier to accomodate your busy lifestyle. Some patients are wary of missing work by having to travel to have surgery. No matter what, after surgery, usually a week off work is needed. We only require that you arrive one day prior so you can see our staff in person to ask any last minute questions. We also need to have a follow up visit one to two days after surgery while you are still in town.
Secondly, why travel to Las Vegas to have surgery when it can be done in my hometown? Many surgeons are beginning to perform weight loss surgery in today’s world of medicine. Everyone’s first and foremost goal should be to have a complication free, great experience which results in long term weight loss and the probable resolution of any previous co-existing medical diseases caused by obesity. The number one factor to achieve these goals is the experience of the surgeon. Our surgeons have not performed only a handful to a hundred surgeries, they perform over a thousand each year, and have been successfully performing weight loss surgery for the last fifteen years. Weight loss surgery is their passion and our team’s passion. Choosing your surgeon is the most important decision you need to make in preparation for surgery. At New You Sleeve, we have made this process as easy as possible for your lifestyle and provide you with the best, most experienced and accomplished surgeons.-Jamie Clarke

some questions have been answered. Do you have any idea of the expected expenses for out of towners, in terms of where people are staying.

The average hotel cost is about $65 to $150 per night and we would like a total of 3 nights with one before the day of surgery and two after for recovery and then airline fees depending on where you are traveling from
